Match report: Nottingham Hoods 32 – 71 Derby Trailblazers

It was a tough outing for the Nottingham Hoods as they fell 32–71 to a strong and physically dominant Derby Trailblazers side. From the opening tip, the Hoods struggled to find rhythm, with Derby’s size and interior presence causing problems on both ends of the floor. Early scoring opportunities were hard to come by, and the Hoods found themselves chasing the game from the early stages.

Despite the slow start, the Hoods continued to compete and remained composed under pressure. By the end of the third quarter, a noticeable spark emerged within the team. Their energy lifted, ball movement improved, and they showed far greater confidence on the offensive end. This shift translated into their best scoring spell of the game, putting up 16 points in the final 10 minutes and finishing the match on a much more positive note.

While the result was not what the team hoped for, the Hoods demonstrated impressive resilience, togetherness, and professionalism throughout. Their late surge showed what they are capable of when they play with tempo and belief; qualities they will look to build on as they prepare for their next game.
