Match Report: Nottingham Hoods 55–81 Milton Keynes Breakers

A strong third-quarter push wasn’t enough to overturn a slow start, as the Nottingham Hoods fell 55–81 to the Milton Keynes Breakers on Friday.

Milton Keynes took control early, applying pressure that forced the Hoods into tough looks and limited offensive flow. This allowed the Breakers to build a steady lead through efficient shooting and better execution in transition.

The Hoods came out of halftime with intent. Led by M. Sokoli Nottingham lifted the pace, tightened their defence, and produced their best stretch of the game. A series of stops and improved ball movement chipped into the gap, energising the bench and crowd as momentum briefly shifted.

But the Breakers responded quickly, halting the comeback late in the third quarter with a run of their own. From there, Milton Keynes managed the game well, limiting Nottingham’s scoring opportunities and keeping the lead out of reach through the final period.

Sokoli and Nixon II provided the bulk of the Hoods’ offence and led the team’s second-half improvement. Despite the defeat, the third-quarter effort offered a reminder of the team’s potential when the tempo and defensive intensity rise.

The Hoods now look ahead to their next fixture with a focus on producing that same level of intensity across all four quarters.
