Andy Thomson Officially Signs for the Nottingham Hoods

The Nottingham Hoods are thrilled to announce the signing of Andy Thomson, an experienced forward standing at 6’10”, who is coming out of retirement to support and join the Hoods for 2025/26 season.

Thomson returns to competitive basketball after a long and distinguished career playing (and captaining) multiple top-division British clubs.

Known for his leadership, versatility, and commanding presence on the court, Thomson brings a wealth of experience and professionalism to the Hoods’ roster. Andy is winner and has won at every club he played at throughout his career winning 20 BBL trophies.

“Andy’s pedigree speaks for itself,” said Vladan Dragosavac, Head Coach of the Nottingham Hoods. “He’s competed at the highest levels in the UK, led teams with distinction, and understands what it takes to win. His leadership and physicality will be a huge asset for us both on and off the floor.”

The addition of Thomson further strengthens the Hoods’ roster heading into the remainder of the British Championship Basketball campaign, as the club continues to blend emerging local talent with seasoned experience.
Fans will get their first chance to see Andy in action when the Hoods take on Milton Keynes tomorrow night (7:30pm) at Harvey Hadden.
